Pitcher Plant Lowii x Ventricosa Red

Nepenthes 'Briggsiana' or Nepenhes Lowii x Ventricosa Red

Combines the unique flared peristome of N. lowii with the classic shape and vibrant red coloration of N. ventricosa 'Red', this hybrid is sought after by both beginners and experienced carnivorous plant collectors alike. This hybrid produces thick, green leaves and is a robust grower. It is considered an intermediate tropical pitcher plant, meaning it tolerates warmer days and requires cooler night temperatures. 

Lighting: Grow the plant in a spot that receives bright, filtered light. A sunny windowsill with an east-facing exposure is ideal.

Watering: The growing medium should be kept consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water only with distilled water, rainwater, or reverse osmosis water as tap water contains minerals that can harm carnivorous plants over time. Unlike some other carnivorous plants, Nepenthes dislike sitting in standing water and requires good drainage. 

Humidity: This plant appreciates high humidity, ideally 70% or higher, to grow well and produce pitchers. However, many hybrids can adapt to ambient household humidity (above 50%) after a period of acclimation.
