Philodendron Lupinum
A more rare philodendron sought after for the remarkable transformation its leaves undergo as it matures. Juvenile leaves are velvety and heart-shaped, while mature leaves become lobed, are much larger and develop a corrugated texture, losing their velvety feel. This one is a climber and requires a moss pole to develop its best leaves.
Lighting: Prefers bright, indirect light. An east-facing window or a spot several feet from a south or west-facing window is perfect.
Watering: Water the plant when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. Water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom of the pot, then empty any excess water from the saucer. Reduce watering in the winter.
Tip: This tropical plant requires high humidity, ideally above 60%. To increase humidity, use a humidifier, mist the plant regularly, or place it on a pebble tray with water.
