Oncidesa (a hybrid genus derived primarily from Oncidium, Gomesa, and related orchids)
Oncidesa orchids are admired for their striking sprays of long-lasting blooms, often nicknamed “dancing lady orchids” due to their graceful, fluttering flower shapes. The flowers typically appear in shades of yellow, red, orange, or burgundy, sometimes with speckling or contrasting patterns.
Lighting : Prefers bright, indirect light. East-facing windows are ideal, though it can also thrive in filtered southern or western exposures. Avoid harsh, direct midday sun.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the potting medium is nearly dry. Typically requires watering about once per week, depending on temperature and humidity. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity levels, ideally between 50–70%. Extra humidity encourages strong root growth and better blooming.
