A cheerful, early bloomer of the Aster family, flowering as early as July. Flat clusters of small flowers with white petals and yellow centers. Excellent nectar source for bees and hosts the caterpillars of the Pearly Crescent and Harris Checkerspot butterflies. Grows best in moist areas.

Cold, moist stratification is required. Mix seeds with moist substrate (vermiculite, perlite or moss) and place in a plastic bag and refrigerate for 6-8 weeks. Sow seed at the depth stated on the packet. Do not let the seedlings dry out while they are establishing.
