Viburnum nudum
Wild raisin is a deciduous shrub native to eastern North America. It has glossy green leaves, clusters of small white flowers in summer, and berries that change from pink to blue-black as they mature. The wrinkled berries resemble raisins and provide food for wildlife.
Approximate Maximum Height: Up to 3 m
Zone(s): Zone 3-8
Lighting: Prefers full sun to partial shade. It can tolerate shade but generally flowers and fruits better with more sunlight.
Germination: Seeds have complex dormancy and can be slow to germinate. They typically require warm, moist stratification followed by cold, moist stratification. Germination may take more than one growing season.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, particularly during germination and the first few years after planting. Once established, water during extended dry periods. It naturally does well in moist soils.
