Viburnum lentago
Nannyberry is a hardy deciduous shrub or small tree native to North America. It has glossy green leaves, clusters of creamy-white flowers in spring, and blue-black berries that mature in fall. It can provide food and shelter for wildlife.
Approximate Maximum Height: Up to 10 m
Zone(s): Zone 2-8
Lighting: Prefers full sun to partial shade. It produces the best flowering and fruiting with several hours of sunlight each day.
Germination: Seeds have deep dormancy and usually require a period of warm stratification followed by cold, moist stratification. Germination may take one to two years, so patience is important.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist while seeds are germinating and while young plants are becoming established. Mature plants are fairly adaptable but grow best in moist, well-drained soil and should be watered during prolonged dry periods.
