Hesperocyparis macrocarpa 'Goldcrest' or Lemon Cypress
These are often called lemon cypress because they give off a lemony scent if you rub the foliage. Goldcrest cypress are typically sold around Christmas, but they make an excellent year-round houseplant, reaching about 3 feet tall. Their main requirements are well-drained soil and lower temperatures around 15 -18º Celsius.
Light: Cypress require a bright location with 6 to 8 hours of direct sun if possible.
Water: Water thoroughly once per week, but allow the soil to dry out in between. If plants become too dry, the needles will turn brown.
