OSC Seeds Daisy Painted Pyrethrum Pkg.

Single daisy-like flowers, in shades of pink, red, rose or white, completely cover the 75 cm high, bushy plants from May through June. Gorgeous spring and summer colour in sun or partial shade. Invaluable for cutting (cut as soon as colour shows) and as a dried flower (harvest immediately after bloom opens).  Avoid high fertility. Moist, well-drained soil is best. Try raised beds to accomplish this if your soil is heavy. it is hardy to Zone 5 with protection. Interestingly, direct-sown, or self-sown, established plants are hardier than transplants.

Sow seed indoors in a soil-less mix on March 1st for early summer flowering. Germinate at 20° C for 14-21 days, then grow under lights at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and transplanting out after the danger of frost has passed. Painted Daisy requires light to germinate; do not bury; gently press into growing medium. Space plants 30 cm apart. Seed can also be sown directly to the garden in July. Plants will produce single flowers during the first season of bloom. Enjoys full sun in a rich, fertile soil.
