Scientific Name: Hippeastrum 'Cupid'
Common Name: Van Noort Amaryllis Cupid
Exposure: Bright Indirect Light to Full Sun
Blooming Time (Months): December to March indoors, depending on planting time
Bloom Duration (Months): 1 to 2 months
Fragrance: None
Plant Habit: Upright, clump-forming
Characteristics: Produces large, elegant trumpet-shaped blooms in attractive shades of soft pink, blush, and white. The sturdy flower stalks and long-lasting blooms make it an excellent choice for winter indoor displays, containers, and holiday décor. Typically produces multiple flower stalks with several blooms per stalk.
Spacing: One bulb per container; allow approximately 2 to 3 inches between the bulb and the container edge
Height: 18 to 24 inches
Width: 8 to 12 inches
Maintenance Requirements: Low; plant in well-drained potting mix with the upper one-third of the bulb exposed above the soil. Place in a bright location, water sparingly until growth begins, then water regularly while actively growing. Remove spent flowers after blooming but retain the foliage so it can replenish the bulb. Gradually reduce watering as the foliage dies back to allow a dormant period before the next flowering cycle
