Scientific Name: Hippeastrum 'Double Tika Coral'
Common Name: Double Tika Coral Amaryllis
Exposure: Bright Indirect Light to Full Sun
Blooming Time (Months): December to March (indoors, depending on planting time)
Bloom Duration (Months): 1 to 2 months
Fragrance: None
Plant Habit: Upright, clump-forming
Characteristics: Produces large, fully double blooms in rich coral-pink with soft salmon and peach tones. The lush, layered flowers are borne on sturdy stems and creates a spectacular indoor display during the winter months. Excellent as a container plant and a long-lasting holiday gift. Each bulb typically produces multiple flower stalks with several blooms per stalk.
Spacing: 8 to 10 inches
Height: 18 to 24 inches
Width: 8 to 12 inches
Maintenance Requirements: Low; plant the bulb in a well-drained potting mix with the top one-third of the bulb above the soil surface. Place in bright, indirect light and water sparingly until growth begins, then water regularly while actively growing. After flowering, remove spent blooms, continue caring for the foliage to replenish the bulb, and reduce watering once the leaves naturally die back to allow for dormancy before the next blooming cycle.
