Split Rock Cactus

Scientific Name: Pleiospilos nelii

Description: Split Rock Cactus is a unique, low-growing succulent known for its thick, paired leaves that resemble a split stone or rock. The grey-green leaves are often speckled with darker markings, helping the plant blend into its natural surroundings. In the right conditions, it produces large, daisy-like flowers in shades of yellow or orange, adding a striking contrast to its stone-like appearance.

Lighting: Requires bright light, including several hours of direct sun. A sunny windowsill or strong grow lights are ideal to maintain its compact form and healthy growth.

Watering: Water very sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely and only water when the plant shows signs of needing moisture, especially during its active growing period. Avoid watering when new leaves are forming, as the plant draws moisture from older leaves.

Humidity: Prefers low humidity and dry air. High humidity can increase the risk of rot, so good airflow and a dry environment are important.
