Non-sized seed for economical pricing. This is the ever-popular rutabaga of holiday feasts. Some communities in Canada refer to this rutabaga as “turnip.” The exposed top of the root takes on a distinctive purple hue. The flesh varies from cream coloured to a warm golden yellow.

Culture is similar to other members of the Brassica family. Sow seed in early spring 12 mm deep in rows spaced 60-90 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 20 cm apart when they reach 7.5 cm in height. Harvest in the fall, after they have been exposed to frost. Germination occurs in approximately 10 days.
