As the name suggests, Cascade Mixture has a full colour range of pinks, reds, purples, white, blues and lilac that will tumble out of containers and hanging baskets. Grows to 15 cm and sometimes as tall as 30 cm in height, depending on growing conditions. Germination is slow and often erratic, but by being patient, the gardener will be rewarded with an eye-catching, multi-coloured spectacle. In areas with a hot summer, we suggest growing lobelia in semi-shaded sites rather than in full sun.

Lobelia is best started indoors. Sow 8 weeks early, uncovered on the surface of the soil-less growing medium. Moisten by misting or bottom watering. Keep at 24° C for the 20-25 day germination period, then grow under lights at a cooler temperature of 15° C. Harden off and transplant outside to a partially shaded site after the danger of frost has passed.
