Cultivate a connection to the earth with the certified organic Sugar Baby Watermelon. This dependable, quality variety brings the pure, unadulterated taste of summer straight to your table. These round, compact “icebox” melons grow to a perfect, manageable size, about 20 cm in diameter and weighing roughly 4 kg to 5 kg. Inside, the flesh is truly exceptional: crisp, deeply red, naturally sweet, and incredibly juicy with the bonus of very few seeds. When the thin, hard skin deepens to a dark red, you know it’s time to enjoy nature’s finest.

  • Type: Certified Organic, Open Pollinated “Icebox” Watermelon
  • Fruit: Round, dark red skin when ripe, 4 kg to 5 kg size, 20 cm diameter
  • Features: Perfect compact size; naturally sweet, juicy flesh; very few seeds; dependable organic yield.

Harvest the sun’s goodness! This organic melon is the perfect hydrating treat, naturally low in calories and bursting with essential nutrients. The vibrant red flesh is an excellent source of Vitamin C and Vitamin A, while also providing abundant lycopene, a powerful plant-based antioxidant. Choosing organic seeds is a commitment to purity and a richer, cleaner food source for your family.

Grow your melons with mindful, earth-friendly care. These plants absolutely thrive on warmth and consistent hydration.

  • Sow Indoors: Give your little sprouts a head start indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost. Nurture them in quality, organic seed-starting medium.
  • Sow Outdoors: Wait until the soil is thoroughly warm before direct sowing.
  • Germination: Optimal seed germination occurs at a soil temperature of 24°C and takes 5 to 10 days. Cooler temperatures will inhibit growth.
  • Planting Depth: 12 mm
  • Spacing: Sow 6 to 8 seeds per hill, 12 mm deep. Space the hills generously at 1.8 m to 2.4 m apart. After germination, thin the weaker plants, leaving 3 to 4 strong plants per hill.

Find a sunny, well-drained spot. For the best quality fruit, never let the plants lack for water, especially once the fruit begins to swell. Harvest with intuition: when the underside is golden, and the skin is a deep, dark red.

Embrace a sustainable harvest! Growing organic Sugar Baby means you are choosing an ethical, non-GMO seed that produces a highly dependable crop. Its compact “icebox” size is perfect for modern, smaller refrigerators and its deep, clean, sweet flavour makes it the ultimate, pure summertime reward.
