Cat Claw Fern

$14.99
Title

A highly prized, dwarf, mutated cultivar of the traditional White Rabbit's Foot Fern. The plant's growth points fuse together, causing its iconic fuzzy, silver-white rhizomes to grow in thick, twisted, fan-shaped ribbons rather than narrow cylindrical cords. This makes it very popular for Bonsai. It features 3-5-inch (7–12 cm) deeply dissected, triangular, leathery dark-green fronds that emerge directly from the crested feet. The foliage stays significantly shorter and more miniature than the wild type.

What To Look For: White, cottony or waxy masses on stems, leaf axils, underside of leaves. Sticky honeydew, sooty mold growth, yellowing or dropping leaves.

How To Treat: Use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to dab and remove visible bugs. Wash leaves and stems with gentle soapy water. In heavy infestations, consider removing very affected stems/leaves or, in the worst case, replacing the plant.
