Cooking Uses: Excellent for boiling, roasting, steaming, salads, and soups; holds shape well when cooked.
Flavour Profile: Mild, slightly sweet flavour with a creamy texture when cooked.
Planting Instructions: Plant in early spring when the soil warms to at least 7°C (45°F). Space seed pieces 30 cm apart in rows 75 cm apart, planting them 10–15 cm deep in well-draining soil.
Growing Instructions: Hill soil around plants once they reach about 15–20 cm tall. Water deeply and consistently, mulch to retain moisture, and watch for pests like Colorado potato beetles. Practice crop rotation to reduce disease risk.
When To Harvest: Harvest when plants die back and tops yellow, typically late summer to early fall. For tender new potatoes, you can dig around the plants once they flower. Cure harvested potatoes for 1–2 weeks before storing.
