What Seeds Should You Be Starting?

February
As of February 5th, we will be receiving 10 hours of daylight here in New Brunswick!!
If you are looking to start seeds indoors it will be the perfect time to start onions, leeks, chives, lavender, rosemary and certain flower seeds.
Always make sure you refer to the recommended indoor sowing dates on the back of each seed package.

5 Easy Steps To Starting Seeds Indoors!

  1. Choose a seed-starting container: You can use peat potsseed trays, or even recycled containers like egg cartons.
  2. Fill container with seed-starting mix: Purchase seed-starting mix or make your own by mixing equal parts peat moss, vermiculite, and perlite.
  3. Plant seeds: Follow the seed packet instructions for planting depth and spacing.
  4. Water and cover: Gently water the seeds and cover the container with plastic wrap or a lid to maintain humidity.
  5. Place in a warm location: Keep the container in a warm location, around 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit, until the seeds germinate. Once germinated, move to a location with bright light and cooler temps.
