Flowers show up in profusion starting in late spring and continuing well into summer. This very fast-growing plant prefers cooler weather and grows best in partial shade,  although it will perform well in direct sun in areas with a cooler summer. Five Spot is an introduced species that will sometimes self-seed if the seed falls on bare ground. Height 20-30 cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSow seed indoors in a soil-less mix mid-March at 16° C.  Cover seed very lightly. Germination averages 75 to 80%. Thin seedlings to stand 20 cm apart in the garden. Seed can also be broadcast on the ground in late fall.
