A long-standing Bibb-type lettuce, Buttercrunch is prized for its heavy, compact heads, superb flavour and heat resistance. The centre leaves blanch to a light colour with a buttery texture and rich flavour. Outer leaves are crisp and juicy. A good choice for production in early summer; ideal for containers or the summer garden bed.

Rich in fiber and potassium, with a moderate amount of vitamin A.
